本日經文提要  (馬太福音 10:1~11:30)

太10:1耶穌叫了十二個門徒來,給他們權柄,能趕逐污鬼,並醫治各樣的病症。
太10:2這十二使徒的名,頭一個叫西門,又稱彼得,還有他兄弟安得烈,西庇太的兒子雅各,和雅各的兄弟約翰。
太10:3腓力,和巴多羅買,多馬,和稅吏馬太,亞勒腓的兒子雅各,和達太。
太10:4奮銳黨的西門,還有賣耶穌的加略人猶大。
太10:5耶穌差這十二個人去,吩咐他們說:外邦人的路,你們不要走,撒瑪利亞人的城,你們不要進。
太10:6寧可往以色列家迷失的羊那裡去。
太10:7隨走隨傳,說:天國近了。
太10:8醫治病人,叫死人復活,叫長大痳瘋的潔淨,把鬼趕出去,你們白白的得來,也要白白的捨去。
太10:9腰袋裡,不要帶金銀銅錢。
太10:10行路不要帶口袋,不要帶兩件褂子,也不要帶鞋和柺杖,因為工人得飲食,是應當的。
太10:11你們無論進那一城,那一村,要打聽那裡誰是好人,就住在他家,直住到走的時候。
太10:12進他家裡去,要請他的安。
太10:13那家若配得平安,你們所求的平安,就必臨到那家,若不配得,你們所求的平安仍歸你們。
太10:14凡不接待你們,不聽你們話的人,你們離開那家,或是那城的時候,就把腳上的塵土跺下去。
太10:15我實在告訴你們,當審判的日子,所多瑪和蛾摩拉所受的,比那城還容易受呢。
太10:16我差你們去,如同羊進入狼群,所以你們要靈巧像蛇,馴良像鴿子。
太10:17你們要防備人,因為他們要把你們交給公會,也要在會堂裡鞭打你們。
太10:18並且你們要為我的緣故,被送到諸候君王面前,對他們和外邦人作見證。
太10:19你們被交的時侯,不要思慮怎樣說話,或說甚麼話,到那時候,必賜給你們當說的話。
太10:20因為不是你們自己說的,乃是你們父的靈在你們裡頭說的。
太10:21弟兄要把弟兄,父親要把兒子,送到死地,兒女要與父母為敵,害死他們。
太10:22並且你們要為我的名,被眾人恨惡,惟有忍耐到底的,必然得救。
太10:23有人在這城裡逼迫你們,就逃到那城裡去,我實在告訴你們,以色列的城邑,你們還沒有走遍,人子就到了。
太10:24學生不能高過先生,僕人不能高過主人。
太10:25學生和先生一樣,僕人和主人一樣,也就罷了,人既罵家主是別西卜,何況他的家人呢。〔別西卜是鬼王的名〕
太10:26所以不要怕他們,因為掩蓋的事,沒有不露出來的,隱藏的事,沒有不被人知道的。
太10:27我在暗中告訴你們的,你們要在明處說出來,你們耳中所聽的,要在房上宣揚出來。
太10:28那殺身體不能殺靈魂的,不要怕他們,惟有能把身體和靈魂都滅在地獄裡的,正要怕他。
太10:29兩個麻雀,不是賣一分銀子麼,若是你們的父不許,一個也不能掉在地上。
太10:30就是你們的頭髮,也都被數過了。
太10:31所以不要懼怕,你們比許多麻雀還貴重。
太10:32凡在人面前認我的,我在我天上的父面前,也必認他。
太10:33凡在人面前不認我的,我在我天上的父面前,也必不認他。
太10:34你們不要想我來,是叫地上太平,我來,並不是叫地上太平,乃是叫地上動刀兵。
太10:35因為我來,是叫人與父親生疏,女兒與母親生疏,媳婦與婆婆生疏。
太10:36人的仇敵,就是自己家裡的人。
太10:37愛父母過於愛我的,不配作我的門徒,愛兒女過於愛我的,不配作我的門徒。
太10:38不背著他的十字架跟從我的,也不配作我的門徒。
太10:39得著生命的,將要失喪生命,為我失喪生命的,將要得著生命。
太10:40人接待你們,就是接待我,接待我,就是接待那差我來的。
太10:41人因為先知的名接待先知,必得先知所得的賞賜,人因為義人的名接待義人,必得義人所得的賞賜。
太10:42無論何人,因為門徒的名,只把一杯涼水給這小子裡的一個喝,我實在告訴你們,這人不能不得賞賜。

太11:1耶穌吩咐完了十二個門徒,就離開那裡,往各城去傳道教訓人。
太11:2約翰在監裡聽見基督所作的事,就打發兩個門徒去,
太11:3問他說:那將要來的是你麼,還是我們等候別人呢。
太11:4耶穌回答說:你們去把所聽見所看見的事告訴約翰。
太11:5就是瞎子看見,瘸子行走,長大痳瘋的潔淨,聾子聽見,死人復活,窮人有福音傳給他們。
太11:6凡不因我跌倒的,就有福了。
太11:7他們走的時候,耶穌就對眾人講論約翰說:你們從前出到曠野,是要看甚麼呢,要看風吹動的蘆葦麼。
太11:8你們出去,到底是要看甚麼,要看穿細軟衣服的人麼,那穿細軟衣服的人,是在王宮裡。
太11:9你們出去,究竟是為甚麼,是要看先知麼,我告訴你們,是的,他比先知大多了。
太11:10經上記著說:『我要差遺我的使者在你前面,豫備道路。』所說的就是這個人。
太11:11我實在告訴你們,凡婦人所生的,沒有一個興起來大過施洗約翰的,然而天國裡最小的,比他還大。
太11:12從施洗約翰的時候到如今,天國是努力進入的,努力的人就得著了。
太11:13因為眾先知和律法說豫言,到約翰為止。
太11:14你們若肯領受,這人就是那應當來的以利亞。
太11:15有耳可聽的,就應當聽。
太11:16我可用甚麼比這世代呢,好像孩童坐在街市上,招呼同伴,說:
太11:17我們向你們吹笛,你們不跳舞,我們向你們舉哀,你們不捶胸。
太11:18約翰來了,也不吃,也不喝,人就說他是被鬼附著的。
太11:19人子來了,也吃,也暍,人又說他是貪食好酒的人,是稅吏和罪人的朋友,但智慧之子,總以智慧為是。〔有古卷作但智慧在行為上就顯為是〕
太11:20耶穌在諸城中行了許多異能,那些城的人終不悔改,就在那時候責備他們說:
太11:21哥拉汛哪,你有禍了,伯賽大阿,你有禍了,因為在你們中間所行的異能,若行在推羅西頓,他們早已披麻蒙灰悔改了。
太11:22但我告訴你們,當審判的日子,推羅西頓所受的,比你們還容易受呢。
太11:23迦百農阿你已經升到天上,〔或作你將要升到天上麼〕將來必墜落陰間,因為在你那裡所行的異能,若行在所多瑪,他還可以存到今日。
太11:24但我告訴你們,當審判的日子,所多瑪所受的,比你還容易受呢。
太11:25那時,耶穌說:父阿,天地的主,我感謝你,因為你將這些事,向聰明通達人,就藏起來,向嬰孩,就顯出來。
太11:26父阿,是的,因為你的美意本是如此。
太11:27一切所有的,都是我父交付我的,除了父,沒有人知道子,除了子和子所願意指示的,沒有人知道父。
太11:28凡勞苦擔重擔的人,可以到我這裡來,我就使你們得安息。
太11:29我心裡柔和謙卑,你們當負我的軛,學我的樣式,這樣,你們心裡就必得享安息。
太11:30因為我的軛是容易的,我的擔子是輕省的。

Matthew 10

Jesus Sends Out the Twelve
10 Jesus called his twelve disciples to him and gave them authority to drive out impure spirits and to heal every disease and sickness.

2 These are the names of the twelve apostles: first, Simon (who is called Peter) and his brother Andrew; James son of Zebedee, and his brother John; 3 Philip and Bartholomew; Thomas and Matthew the tax collector; James son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus; 4 Simon the Zealot and Judas Iscariot, who betrayed him.

5 These twelve Jesus sent out with the following instructions: “Do not go among the Gentiles or enter any town of the Samaritans. 6 Go rather to the lost sheep of Israel. 7 As you go, proclaim this message: ‘The kingdom of heaven has come near.’ 8 Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy,[a] drive out demons. Freely you have received; freely give.

9 “Do not get any gold or silver or copper to take with you in your belts— 10 no bag for the journey or extra shirt or sandals or a staff, for the worker is worth his keep. 11 Whatever town or village you enter, search there for some worthy person and stay at their house until you leave. 12 As you enter the home, give it your greeting. 13 If the home is deserving, let your peace rest on it; if it is not, let your peace return to you. 14 If anyone will not welcome you or listen to your words, leave that home or town and shake the dust off your feet. 15 Truly I tell you, it will be more bearable for Sodom and Gomorrah on the day of judgment than for that town.

16 “I am sending you out like sheep among wolves. Therefore be as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves. 17 Be on your guard; you will be handed over to the local councils and be flogged in the synagogues. 18 On my account you will be brought before governors and kings as witnesses to them and to the Gentiles. 19 But when they arrest you, do not worry about what to say or how to say it. At that time you will be given what to say, 20 for it will not be you speaking, but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you.

21 “Brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child; children will rebel against their parents and have them put to death. 22 You will be hated by everyone because of me, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved. 23 When you are persecuted in one place, flee to another. Truly I tell you, you will not finish going through the towns of Israel before the Son of Man comes.

24 “The student is not above the teacher, nor a servant above his master. 25 It is enough for students to be like their teachers, and servants like their masters. If the head of the house has been called Beelzebul, how much more the members of his household!

26 “So do not be afraid of them, for there is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, or hidden that will not be made known. 27 What I tell you in the dark, speak in the daylight; what is whispered in your ear, proclaim from the roofs. 28 Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell. 29 Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father’s care.[b] 30 And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. 31 So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.

32 “Whoever acknowledges me before others, I will also acknowledge before my Father in heaven. 33 But whoever disowns me before others, I will disown before my Father in heaven.

34 “Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. 35 For I have come to turn

“‘a man against his father,
    a daughter against her mother,
a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law—
36     a man’s enemies will be the members of his own household.’[c]
37 “Anyone who loves their father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves their son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. 38 Whoever does not take up their cross and follow me is not worthy of me. 39 Whoever finds their life will lose it, and whoever loses their life for my sake will find it.

40 “Anyone who welcomes you welcomes me, and anyone who welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me. 41 Whoever welcomes a prophet as a prophet will receive a prophet’s reward, and whoever welcomes a righteous person as a righteous person will receive a righteous person’s reward. 42 And if anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones who is my disciple, truly I tell you, that person will certainly not lose their reward.
 
Matthew 11

Jesus and John the Baptist
11 After Jesus had finished instructing his twelve disciples, he went on from there to teach and preach in the towns of Galilee.[a]

2 When John, who was in prison, heard about the deeds of the Messiah, he sent his disciples 3 to ask him, “Are you the one who is to come, or should we expect someone else?”

4 Jesus replied, “Go back and report to John what you hear and see: 5 The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy[b] are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is proclaimed to the poor. 6 Blessed is anyone who does not stumble on account of me.”

7 As John’s disciples were leaving, Jesus began to speak to the crowd about John: “What did you go out into the wilderness to see? A reed swayed by the wind? 8 If not, what did you go out to see? A man dressed in fine clothes? No, those who wear fine clothes are in kings’ palaces. 9 Then what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I tell you, and more than a prophet. 10 This is the one about whom it is written:

“‘I will send my messenger ahead of you,
    who will prepare your way before you.’[c]
11 Truly I tell you, among those born of women there has not risen anyone greater than John the Baptist; yet whoever is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he. 12 From the days of John the Baptist until now, the kingdom of heaven has been subjected to violence,[d] and violent people have been raiding it. 13 For all the Prophets and the Law prophesied until John. 14 And if you are willing to accept it, he is the Elijah who was to come. 15 Whoever has ears, let them hear.

16 “To what can I compare this generation? They are like children sitting in the marketplaces and calling out to others:

17 “‘We played the pipe for you,
    and you did not dance;
we sang a dirge,
    and you did not mourn.’
18 For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, ‘He has a demon.’ 19 The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, ‘Here is a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners.’ But wisdom is proved right by her deeds.”

Woe on Unrepentant Towns
20 Then Jesus began to denounce the towns in which most of his miracles had been performed, because they did not repent. 21 “Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the miracles that were performed in you had been performed in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes. 22 But I tell you, it will be more bearable for Tyre and Sidon on the day of judgment than for you. 23 And you, Capernaum, will you be lifted to the heavens? No, you will go down to Hades.[e] For if the miracles that were performed in you had been performed in Sodom, it would have remained to this day. 24 But I tell you that it will be more bearable for Sodom on the day of judgment than for you.”

The Father Revealed in the Son
25 At that time Jesus said, “I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. 26 Yes, Father, for this is what you were pleased to do.

27 “All things have been committed to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.

28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
